Michael Coughlin
Michael Coughlin has over 40 years experience in accounting, taxation and financial services.
Graduating in accounting from the University of Southern Queensland, he continued post graduate studies at the University of Queensland in economics and Canberra University in Taxation Law.
Awarded a cadetship with the Australian Taxation Office in 1973, he commenced work in the assessing, business audit and investigation divisions of the Taxation Office in Brisbane and Townsville and in the Law Interpretation and Advising Branch of the Taxation Office Head Office in Canberra until 1979, when he commenced in Public Practice.
Michael has a Bachelor of Business, a Registered Tax Agent, a Registered Company Auditor, Financial Planner, CPA, and a Member of the Taxation Institute, National Tax and Accountants Association, and Taxpayers Australia.
Clare Muller
Clare Muller is a qualified Chartered Accountant with a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree obtained at the University of Sydney
She commenced her career in the Audit division of Deloitte in Sydney, where she was involved in the audit engagements of some of Australia’s largest corporations, as well as a number of small and medium sized enterprises. Clare later spent time as a Financial Controller, initially for the SEQ distributor for Exxon Mobil and later for the Australian subsidiary of one of the largest family-owned companies in the USA. She returned to Public Practice in 2009, holding a key role at Coughlins as Audit Manager, and has also developed a specialisation in self-managed superannuation, along with having a broad knowledge of taxation and business services.
Matthew Keyser
Matthew Keyser joined the Coughlins team as a graduate accountant in 1990. He has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Accounting and is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA). After nearly 25 yearsMatthew has an extensive knowledge of all of our established clients.
Matthew specialises in business services and taxation, in particular GST and Capital Gains, and company law. He has an extensive knowledge of information technology, and manages the in-house IT and practice management systems.
Oscar Beath
Oscar Beath holds a Bachelor of Arts, Graduate Diploma in Accounting, Graduate Diploma from the Securities Institute of Australia, Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA), and qualified Financial Planner.
Oscar is a highly skilled and experienced CPA who has worked at Coughlins for many years. Oscar specialises in Self Managed Superannuation Funds.
Prior to Coughlins he had worked in several accounting and financial planning practices.
Megan Fowler
Megan joined Coughlins in 2002 and has over 15 years experience in accounting and taxation for small to medium enterprises.
Megan has a Bachelor of Business (Accounting) with Honours degree and as a Chartered Accountant is Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia.
Megan specialises in providing business and management services to business clients and provides training to clients in bookkeeping and taxation and ASIC compliance.
